We’re in a bigger pond now
In less than two decades, the internet has transformed the global marketplace to operate on an entirely different plane. While “face-to-face” was the original method of trade, the telephone and post-mail certainly expanded potential markets for businesses. Once the internet came around, it caused probably the greatest and most drastic shift in the modern commercial world.
While it used to be simpler to survive as a big (or even medium sized) fish in a little pond, the internet created a mass of new competition for businesses worldwide - however at the same time creating new market opportunity as well.
Given the breadth and depth of choice, there seems to be little room for error in execution.
For those still making their way in the brave new commercial world, consider these two questions as you work through your day:
“What’s best for your brand?”
“What’s best for your customer?”
They won’t solve everything, but it’s amazing how those two simple sentences can keep you on track.
